Buying Pulley goods on iPhone/iPad

Howdy!

I’m interested in using pulley to sell ebooks, but I’m wondering how the service plays with iOS and mobile devices.

So, two questions:

1. If the file is an epub or pdf, can the user click the link on their iOS device and open that file up directly in their browser (or via iBooks or their reading app of choice)?

2. I’d ideally like to provide the ebook in multiple formats (epub, mobi, PDF) in a single download. This would mean the download would be in .zip format, which wouldn’t open on iOS devices. What I’d love would be to offer the .zip download for users at their computer, followed by an optional link to a file that mobile/iOS users can open. Is that (having two download links in a single email) possible? Is there any suggested workaround for this kind of situation?

Cheers!

Alternatively, would it be possible to sell the one product with options (different formats), or would each format option count against the quota for number of products?

    Hi Connor,

    1. Yes, your customer will be given a link to download the raw file, so if it’s in a format that iOS can handle (PDF) then it will open fine. Some formats iOS may not know what to do with, and we haven’t tested them to see.

    2. That’s not something we currently support, but I’ll consider it a feature request.

    3. Yes, you can either setup these options on your own website and link to different Pulley products for each format, or if you’re using Big Cartel you could link each Pulley product format to separate options inside one product.

Let me know if you need any more help.
